A Roman Cheese Cake
This cheese cake in Rome is called Cassola. A popular Christmas-time desert. It’s roots are in Rome’s ancient Jewish community. The ricotta cheese makes it lighter than a cheese cake made with cream cheese. Topped with a blueberry sauce.

This is cake, called Mamorkuchen in German, is tender and sweet. In America we know this as a marble cake. The sweetness comes from chocolate swirled throughout the batter. Tastes better the second day as the flavors mingle and great toasted when stale.
